Teresa,
Reading the excerpt and comments takes me back. I was born/raised in Gary. I would have to check my Lew Wallace High yearbook to be certain, but I recall going to school with a Tony Penzato? I certainly am familiar with the Rizzo's of Glen Park (2 Rizzo families lived on my block), as well as St. Joseph School. I attended there. At Wallace I had a guidance counselor/teacher named Sam Bianco whom I highly respected. Would he be a relative of yours?

I can certainly relate to your ordeal. My uncle, Gary Police Lt. George Yaros, was murdered during the commission of a robbery at the the Glen Park Branch of the Gary National Bank; strangely also in August, but in the year 1981.

Your readers may also be interested in a web site I have, relating to all things Gary, IN. It is titled Dave's Den. The Gary page may be accessed at http://GDYNets.WebNG.com/gary.htm

Looking forward to reading your work!

WOW! Loved the music and graphics on your site and am looking forward to reading this book. Really grabbed my interest. On a more sober note, this sounds like a real tragedy, and I'm so sorry it took so long to learn the truth about your father's death.

I'm a 50 year friend of the Bianco family from Lake Station Teresa. What you've put together so far looks very interesting. I wish you the best and can't wait to read it!

Great start for a wonderful man. I was only 2 when my grandfather was murdered but the stories I heard about him were great. Mom always told me that my grandfather was a kind, loving and honorable man. He made everyone feel welcome. How does a man as remarkable as he fall prey to something like this? He will always be loved and missed by the lives he touched. I wish I could have had the opportunity as others to have been blessed to have known him.

Love ya Aunt Tre...Send me a signed copy.

Teresa,
Reading the excerpt and comments takes me back. I was born/raised in Gary. I would have to check my Lew Wallace High yearbook to be certain, but I recall going to school with a Tony Penzato? I can certainly relate to your ordeal. My uncle, Gary Police Lt. George Yaros, was murdered during the commission of a robbery at the the Glen Park Branch of the Gary National Bank; strangely also in August, but in the year 1981.

Dear Teresa,
I'm also looking forward to reading this book. I loved my Uncle Jack and he was like a father to both of us when I lived with you guys in between my 1st through 6th grades at St. Joe's. We were like brother and sister to him and he never played favorites. He was truly the best uncle I ever had. Joey

Teresa,
Wow! You really are doing it. I wish you the best of luck with the story. Hadn't heard from you and thought maybe it went by wayside. Never underestimate a Sicilian-American chick from Gary! I can't wait to see this book. Glad you felt it was its something you had to do. Can't wait to read it!
