The original file on the murder of my father, Jack Bianco, stayed at the bottom of a musty, cardboard banker’s box in Gary, Indiana, for almost thirty years. There was no denying that his case was cold—the leads within were as dead as many of the police detectives who had worked the investigation.
The term “cold case” sounds so uninviting and final, and the prospects of reopening Dad’s case seemed equally bleak. But despite all this, in 1993, I called a retired police officer I knew, to help me find my father’s file. He asked for the assistance of his fellow officers to locate the Bianco file.

The book cover and interior photos are currently being designed. Daily we are creating what this book is going to look like to the public. We anticipate the final proof to be as compelling as the story of my father.

GREAT NEWS … The Family Debt has been chosen for Editor’s Choice through my publisher! What an honor … and it’s already getting great reviews!
Now, the book is moving into design production for the cover. Next week we’ll be choosing graphics and polishing the content for the front and back cover. We will then choose the images for inside of the book with family pictures. After the final polish then off to production.
Won’t be long before you see it in a bookstore near you! I will keep you updated on the progress.
